Where we are and where we have been:
We have spent a week with our daughter, son-in-law, grandson, and granddaughter. It was a wonderful week, full of family time, chats and great food.
As I mentioned in the last post we spent our first night ever in a Wal-Mart parking lot when we returned to Connecticut, an experience we will certainly repeat. For the remainder of the week we were privileged to find a place for Pilgrim in the parking area of a local church. The pastor there is an old friend of another daughter, and we certainly appreciated the hospitality they afforded us. The pastor and his wife went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The Connecticut daughter has just returned from a week working with a missions group in Haiti. That was quite an experience and we praise God for her and her family’s dedication to our Lord and willingness to serve Him.
Since we live so far from each other, we don’t spend nearly enough time together, so no special outings! It was delightful time to visit and enjoy each other’s company.  Most of our time was spent in their relaxing back yard with a covered deck, shades, grills, plenty of comfortable seating, toys and a pool.
Both are excellent cooks. He excels on the outdoor grills and we were treated to delicious meals all week starting with steak and baked potatoes with all the trimming, and culminating with smoked brisket and barbecued ribs with appetizers of barbecued
wings and armadillo eggs. To produce his miracles of the grill, he juggled four grills, using apple wood for flavor and timing things so that the appetizers would be ready to enjoy before the brisket and ribs. In the mean time she had a delicious pasta salad prepared in the kitchen.
